IC  Agile Coaching Track

 

Looking to become an ICAgile Certified Agile Coach and more efficiently facilitate your Agile team?

Through the ICAgile Coaching track, you will learn how to distinguish between mentoring, facilitating, teaching, and consulting to create a safe environment for meaningful collaboration and conflict resolution within an Agile team. This track includes two course requirements, followed by the ICAgile Expert application and interview process.

Although ICAgile does not have a required order to attend the certified courses, ASPE recommends a progression based on the flow of our following classes:

 

Step 1: Agile Team Facilitation (ICP-ATF)

 

This 3-day course will provide you with the ICP-ATF certification.

This certification focuses primarily on the mindset and role of an agile team facilitator, while also providing group facilitation tools and techniques.

Step 2: Agile Coaching Workshop (ICP-ACC)

 

This 3-day course will provide you with the ICP-ACC certification.

This certification focuses primarily on the mindset, roles, and responsibilities of an Agile Coach.

  • Setting Boundaries for Coaching
  • The Coaching Stance
  • The Coaching Conversation - Coaching for Action

Step 3: ICAgile Certified Expert in Agile Coaching (ICE-AC)       

 

To obtain the ICAgile Certified Expert in Agile Coaching (ICE-AC), a candidate must demonstrate competency in the discipline of Agile Coaching and Facilitation to a review committee of three industry-recognized experts. The candidate will be evaluated via an interactive virtual session with the review committee.

The process for becoming an ICAgile Certified Expert in Agile Coaching is defined below:

  1. Earn All Prerequisite Certifications
  2. Build Competence
    • Recommended 1-2 years of Agile Coaching experience
    • Six months of active practice after earning ICP-ATF and ICP-ACC
    • Agile Coaching experience must include three or more teams
  3. Apply
  4. Sit Before a Panel of Experts
    • Present video evidence and answer questions
    • Live demonstration of professional coaching and mentoring
    • Receive same day feedback from panel

Costs

Required CertificationICAgile Certified Professional (ICP) & ICAgile Certified Professional in Agile Coaching (ICP-ACC) & ICAgile Agile Team Facilitation Certified Pro (ICP-ATF)
Required Experience

Recommended 1-2 years of Agile coaching experience for a minimum of 3 teams.

6 months practice after receiving ICP-ATF, ICP-ACC.

Required Training

Training Requirement Met by Earning Prerequisite Certifications.

Other Requirement Details

Three references (should include one from each team coached).

Provide recording of candidate facilitating an agile practice along with supporting materials showing session design.

Live panel review with industry experts including Q&A, submitted video review, live demonstration of coaching and mentoring.

Recertification

Minimum 12 hours of mentoring ICE-AC candidates per year.
